Curly Maple and Ziricote Jewelry Box

The two drawer box was commisioned by one of my clients. The two very different woods, both in texture and color, really turned out to work well together. The Zirocote is from the Yucatan Peninsula, while the Maple is from Northern US. The box has divided storage, a sliding tray, and two drawers of differing size. The lid is hinged with solid milled brass hinges, and held open with a brass Chain.

Tiger Maple Keepsake Box With Zebrawood Lid

This small keepsake box is made of Tiger Maple, and has a lift-off lid of Zebrawood. A unique aspect of the box is the angled sides that expose a bow-tie pattern of the hidden walnut spline at the corners. The inside bottom is lined with faux suede. the finish is satin lacquer. Overall dimensions are 6 1/2″ x 9″ x 4″ high.

Just received the jury acceptance for participation in the Morning Glory Fine Craft Fair in August at the Marcus Center. This is a great venue, and close to home, so I am looking forward to our third year there. See you then!

Confirmed at Stone Arch

Just got the confirmation of acceptance into the Stone Arch Art Fair in Minneapolis, June 18th and 19th. Last year was my first at that venue. It was fun, successful, and we had a chance to see relatives in town. We are looking forward to the show again, and hopefully meeting some of our customers from last year. Maple Keepsake Box with Two-Toned Lid

This small keepsake box is made of Maple, and sports a two-toned lid of Black Cherry. The deeper color is created with an alcohol dye, while the center rectangle is left natural. The box is 6 ½” x 9” x 3” high and is lined with blue faux suede. The finish is satin lacquer.

Peruvian Walnut Jewelry Box with Spalted Maple Lid

This jewelry box is made of Peruvian Walnut, an rich, deep brown wood that frames the unique lid panel of Spalted Birch. Inside are removable dividers along the bottom, and two half-width, removable sliding trays. The lining is wine-colored faux suede, and the finish is satin lacquer. The hinges are brass quadrants with stays that hold the lid in the open position. Overall dimensions are approximately 8 ½” x 13” x 5” high.
